Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are your classes nationally accredited?
A. Yes, Our classes follow the same ECC 2005 guidelines as the American Heart, National Safety Council and Red Cross. Our curriculum has been developed to meet or exceed the requirements throughout the United States. Our training programs and certification classes are accepted nationally.
Q. Can I renew my American Heart or Red Cross Certification through the International CPR Institute?
A. Absolutely. As already stated, we follow the same guidelines.
Q. Is the certificate and wallet card both included in the cost of the course?
A. Yes, a full color certificate, suitable for framing, is available immediately after you pass the short quiz. You will also receive a professional wallet card will be shipped, signed by one of our instructors, within 24 hours.
Q. How many times can I take the test? Is there and extra charge if I need to re-take it?
A. You can take the test as often as necessary or as often as you like. Most students take the exam over and over until they "ace" the exam. We encourage it! Our courses are well written and you can review the material indefinitely before taking the test. But, in the unlikely instance where you do not pass the test on the first try, we recommend that you review the material that you do not understand before retaking the test. If you need help, one of our instructors will be happy to review the material with you.
Q. Can I stop in the middle and start again later?
A. Yes, If you can not finish the class, you can go back to it any time! The course is left open for you and your account will remain active so you can go back and review EVEN AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE AND RECEIVING YOUR CERTIFICATE AND WALLET CARD! Simply skip ahead if you'd like to where you left off or start from any point in the course. You can also go back to any section of the course to review it at any time and print out whatever material you'd like for future reference.
Q. I purchase the online class. Is there anything else I need to purchase?
A. Absolutely not, even the first class mailing of your wallet card is included. When you purchase the course, you receive the full class, printable full-color certificate, and wallet card. The certificate will available immediately and the wallet card will be filled out, signed by an instructor and mailed USPS, first class to you within 24 hours.
Q. How do I know that if your classes are the correct ones for me?
A. There are very specific course descriptions for each class. The Healthcare Provider BLS course for the professional rescuer is designed for the professional rescuer, healthcare provider, emergency response teams, doctors, nurses, safety personnel, police, ambulance personnel, athletic trainers, etc. Anyone that has a requirement for a certification card should take this course. Please review each of the course descriptions, they are very well written!
Q. Will I be "certified" in your courses?
A. Yes, you will receive a certification card, signed by an instructor upon successful completion of the course and passing of the exam. We offer official certification cards in each of our courses, NOT PAPER PRINTOUTS! That's very important because it's the wallet cards that actually are your proof of certification.
Q. Do you offer a "Healthcare Provider" CPR/AED course?
A. Our Healthcare Provider BLS course is the equivalent of the American Heart Association's "Healthcare Provider" class or the American Red Cross' "CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer" class.
Q. Do you only offer online courses in CPR/AED, First Aid or Bloodborne Pathogen training?
A. No, we also offer a "blend" of online and onsite training. If you are interested in having an instructor visit your facility or attending one of our classes in your area, please feel free to contact us.
Q. How can I become an instructor?
A. Through a local training center. If you are currently an instructor for another accredited agency, you may qualify for reciprocity and not be required to attend our instructor course. We are always seeking good, qualified instructors to handle our onsite training throughout the country. Contact us!
